On Sex and the City, the sneaky trick saucy Samantha pulled trying to secure a Birkin bag lost her both the bag and A lister client, Lucy Liu. Poor Samantha, but it just goes to illustrate the lengths some women will go to to get their hands on the latest IT bag.

 

Back on my usual soap box though, don't you think retail prices for some of these bags are just insane! What are the cows fed on that go into a designer handbag that require a price tag the equivalent of six months salary?

 

Some of the designer bags that cost so much are in my very humble opinion downright ugly - take the Fendi 'To You'. I mean it. Please take it somewhere out of sight and put it out its misery! It looks like an explosion in a feather factory. Another fuh-ugly Fendi is the Bag du Jour but hey, what do I know?
