Starting out in the care of the Barnardo orphange, not many people would have predicted Bruce Oldfields successful assault on the world of fashion. Launching the Bruce Oldfield label in 1975, by 1980 he was dressing Princess Diana and this relationship led to the wonderful quote, '“The bump I was trying to hide could be the future king of England.”

Other royal clients include Queen Noor and Queen Rainia of Jordan. Clients from Hollywood royalty include Faye Dunaway, Anjelica Houston and Melanie Grffith (though granted we are stretching the Hollywood royalty bit rather far on old trout-pout Melanie there). SIenna Miller is a fan and so the list goes on.

Though a darling of the courts and couture set, and a holder of several awards including an OBE, Bruce Oldfield remains admirably down to earth and says of his chosen career, "“I'm not that interested in fashion... When someone says that lime-green is the new black for this season, you just want to tell them to get a life.”
